The Dr Heather MacGowen OAM undergraduate scholarships are avaialable each year to undergraduate students completing Honours by research thesis in a Health and Physical Education course. To apply for a scholarship, complete the application form and return it to the ACHPER NSW office by 31 March 2007. If you have any enquiries about the scholarship contact the ACHPER NSW office.
Applications are invited from teachers in Government, Catholic or Independent schools and TAFE Institutes across New South Wales for the 2007 Premier's Teacher Scholarships.
Premier's Anika Foundation Youth Depression Awareness Scholarships
Three (3) scholarships of $10,000 for Head Teachers Student Welfare, teachers and school counsellors teaching students at risk of youth depression in schools and TAFE NSW Institutes.
All teachers, Head Teachers-Student Welfare and school counsellors currently teaching students at risk of Youth Depression within Schools and TAFE NSW Institutes are eligible to apply. Applications should focus on preventing depression in young people or building awareness of youth depression. Applications should incorporate a Black Dog Institute (BDI) course into their proposal as well as strategies for dealing with, or referring on young people who may be suffering from depression.
Premier's Minter Ellison Educational Leadership Scholarship
As a result of the generous support of Minter Ellison, applications are invited for the Premier’s Minter Ellison Educational Leadership Scholarship.
All teachers currently teaching in NSW schools and NSW TAFE Institutes are eligible to apply. The award is aimed at teachers developing their leadership capability by studying aspects of Educational Leadership, or attending courses relevant to NSW settings.
It is anticipated that successful applicants would spend up to five weeks involved in a study program either in Australia or overseas. Eligible teachers from government schools and TAFE NSW Institutes will be entitled to leave and the school/institute will be entitled to relief. Teachers from non-government schools will need to negotiate with their employing authority. Recipients must organise their itineraries to complete their travel by 30 June 2008.
