Implementing the new K-6 PDHPE syllabus – Surry Hills

September 19 @ 8:30 am - 3:30 pm AEST
$440.00

Planning with Purpose: Implementing the new K-6 PDHPE syllabus.  Full-day professional learning for K–6 teachers.

This full-day workshop supports primary teachers as they plan for and implement the new K–6 PDHPE syllabus. With a strong focus on student needs, school context and curriculum coherence, the workshop offers a hands-on, collaborative approach to programming.

Together, we’ll explore the research and intent behind the new syllabus and how it responds to the real-world challenges and developmental needs of students as they move through childhood into adolescence. Teachers will work through practical planning strategies that centre on four key learning concepts, creating a scope and sequence that reflects both the syllabus structure and their learners.

Whether your school is just getting started or refining existing plans, this session offers the tools and clarity to plan with purpose.

Workshop sessions include:

  • Understanding the importance of curriculum coherence across the K–6 learning journey
  • Using student needs to guide concept-based unit planning
  • Mapping outcomes through collaborative, whole-school programming tasks
  • Drafting a scope and sequence that is stage-appropriate, inclusive, and contextually relevant

The workshop includes a range of practical resources such as:

  • Editable scope and sequence templates for each stage
  • Concept-driven unit planning scaffolds
  • Syllabus planning tools
  • Access to a shared resource folder for continued collaboration
