ACHPER NSW offers a comprehensive Stage 6 HMS professional learning program, co-designed and delivered by ACHPER NSW staff and experienced teachers.
Programming Year 12 HMS is a practical workshop co-designed with experienced teachers.
Join us to start planning your Year 12 HMS program with a focus on HSC success.
Explore evidence-based programming strategies that create effective learning and deepen student understanding. Examine how cognitive load theory can inform program structures and create optimal learning opportunities.
You will create learning maps identifying knowledge students must build in Year 11 to be best prepared for Year 12.
Workshop sessions include:
- Year 12 HMS school-based assessment requirements and implications
- Exploring new and updated content
- Sequencing learning with the HSC exam in mind
- Understanding how students learn most effectively
- Developing learning maps to optimise success in the HSC.
You will be provided with a range of templates and resources including:
- Sample scope and sequences
- Sample unit frameworks
- Ideas for depth studies aligned to content.
Who should attend? Any PDHPE teachers interested in teaching the Stage 6 HMS course.

Pam’s expert knowledge of PDHPE curriculum planning and syllabus has seen her lead and drive change across a wide range of initiatives. Pam firmly believes in the value of developing and nurturing relationships for effective teaching and learning
