Join Katrina Marson as she takes us through the latest evidence about what works in implementing effective Relationships and Sexuality Education through school-based HPE programs.
Katrina is a Churchill Fellow and in 2019 travelled to Europe and North America researching the use of relationships and sex education to safeguard sexual wellbeing. She works in the Sexual Offences Unit at the ACT Director of Public Prosecutions and is the Lead Researcher for Primary Prevention Projects at Rape and Sexual Assault Research and Advocacy,. in 2020 she established the Relationships and Sex Education Alliance and is currently supporting the Review of the Australian Curriculum HPE as an expert advisor.
Completing via live video conference (zoom) Respectful Relationships and Sexuality Education in schools before 31 July 2021 under NESA’s interim arrangements will contribute 1 hour of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Elective PD in the priority area of Delivery and assessment of NSW curriculum addressing the following standard descriptors from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
6.2.2 – Participate in learning to update knowledge and practice targeted to professional needs and school and/or system priorities.
