ACHPER NSW - Board

Kristy O’Mahony, President
Head of PDHPE, Domremy College
Kristy is currently a secondary school Head of PDHPE and has taught throughout NSW and the UK. She has contributed to the Sydney Morning Herald HSC Study Guide and has been a HSC marker and writer for PDHPE examinations. Kristy has been presented at ACHPER NSW Conferences and has consulted with various organisations on educational and curriculum matters.

Kyle Sutton

Kyle Sutton, Vice President
Head Teacher PDHPE and Languages, Merewether High School

Kyle has been a head teacher in Sydney and Newcastle for the past 7 years and has been an ACHPER NSW Board member since 2016. He has been a presenter for ACHPER NSW on curriculum and consulted with a range of stakeholders to promote teacher quality and professional learning.

Brad McAllister, 
Principal, John Therry Catholic College

Brad is currently the Principal at John Therry Catholic High School, Rosemeadow and has been a PDHPE teacher for 20 years. He has been a Board member for 10 years and has been involved in the planning and delivery of a range of workshops including the Aspiring Leaders, Quality Assessment, Job Application Process and Learning Technologies workshops.

Alex Lupton
Head Teacher, Teaching and Learning, Heathcote High School

Alex has extensive teaching experience across all three teaching sectors. She has been a PDHPE teacher, mentor, head teacher and senior education officer and has taught all  PDHPE curriculum areas. Alex has been involved in ACHPER workshops for PASS and Stage 6 PDHPE. She values PDHPE professional development as a way of enhancing student learning and teaching strategies.

Kelly-Ann Parry

Dr Kelly Ann Parry
Lecturer, Australian College of Physical Education  

Kelly is a passionate educator with a philosophy grounded in student-centric and innovative pedagogies. She currently works in Physical Education Teacher Education and has lead PDHPE faculties in Australia and the UK. Kelly believes in supporting students to be physically literate and providing authentic learning experiences so that students can value movement. Her research focuses on games-based pedagogy and how to support teachers to teach through games.

Julie Percival
Julie was the Executive Officer of ACHPER NSW for from 2000-2019, leading professional learning events in NSW across all sectors and stages. Prior to this, Julie was a secondary PDHPE teacher in regional NSW and Sydney. She is passionate about supporting teachers to deliver quality education to their students.

Dominique Sidaros

Dominique Sidaros
Head of PDHPE & Instructional Coach, William Clarke College

Dominique is an experienced PDHPE educator and has held leadership and executive positions in a range of Independent and Catholic schools for over 20 years. Dominique advocated and led PDHPE curriculum initiatives as Senior Curriculum Officer, PDHPE at NESA. She has contributed to a wide variety of state-wide curriculum projects, professional learning opportunities and education panels. 

Cindy Waldock

Cindy Waldock
Curriculum Support Advisor PDHPE K-6, Department of Education

Cindy is a passionate primary educator with more than 25 years’ experience in the classroom as well as school leadership roles. She is currently a PDHPE Curriculum Advisor K-6 for the Department of Education. Cindy has a range of experience in delivering K-6 physical activity workshops, as well as writing accredited professional learning courses for K-6 teachers. 

Kim Harper

Kim Harper
Deputy Principal Student Wellbeing Initiatives, Department of Education

Kim currently leads a team responsible for the state-wide implementation of a mental health and suicide prevention program in NSW government high schools. An experienced PDHPE teacher and Head teacher, Kim has taught at several schools, and worked as a drug education consultant and relieving PDHPE Curriculum Advisor. Kim is passionate about PDHPE and its impact on the lives of students.

Jessica Sears

Dr. Jessica Amy Sears
Lecturer of Education and Discipline Lead Health and Physical Education, Charles Sturt University
Jessica has a long-standing passion for physical education, health education, and school sport. She has extensive experience as a school teacher, having taught HPE in public, systemic, and private schools from K-12 before entering academia. Jessica recently completed her doctoral studies in 2021 and has continued to be involved in schools through several school-university partnerships since 2020.
