Teachers tell us more and more students are disengaged in PE lessons. Our Reimagining PE workshop will help you re-focus on the
educative purpose of PE and explore new and practical ways to engage those “switched-off” students.
Ideal for teachers and faculties looking to review current practices, you’ll discover innovative ways to present learning and increase engagement for all students. Co-designed by practicing HPE teachers and experts in physical education pedagogy, the workshop is evidence-based and informed by real-school experience.
The workshop covers:
- Defining quality PE
- Unpacking movement standards and content
- Engaging and re-engaging students
- Thinking outside the box – how can we do PE differently
- Purposeful and intentional learning in movement lessons
- Changing it up at your school.

This workshop will suit both new and experienced primary RFF or secondary HPE teachers in the ACT.

Presenter
Janice Atkin, ACHPER NSW Professional Learning Officer
Janice has worked as a HPE teacher, head teacher, and curriculum consultant for 30 years. She has extensive experience with curriculum development in NSW, Australia and internationally, and is currently managing the review of the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education. Janice provides professional development, support, and resources for departments, schools, and teachers across Australia.
