HMS Collaborative Investigation – Kingswood

August 28 @ 8:30 am - 3:30 pm AEST

HMS Collaborative Investigation workshop

ACHPER NSW offers a comprehensive Stage 6 HMS professional learning program, co-designed and delivered by ACHPER NSW staff and experienced teachers.

The Collaborative Investigation is an exciting but challenging feature of the new HMS syllabus. Many teachers are wondering where to start.

Join us for this new workshop – learn to design, implement, and assess a collaborative investigation at this experiential, interactive workshop.

Teachers will play the role of students as we model processes, strategies, and templates to help you scaffold learning and keep students on task.  You’ll also be guided through an approach to individual and group assessment of the Collaborative Investigation.

The workshop will cover:

  • Requirements for the Collaborative Investigation
  • Creating and managing groups
  • Scaffolding tasks to complete the investigation
  • Self and peer-assessment strategies
  • Designing research questions and identifying authentic audiences
  • Scheduling the Collaborative Investigation in teaching and assessment programs.

Who should attend? Any PDHPE teachers interested in teaching the Stage 6 HMS course.
