Our HMS Extension sessions unpack a specific area of the HMS syllabus with experts.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) replace the Ottawa Charter in the new HMS syllabus (Focus Area 1).
Explore SDGs and how to use this framework to explore health promotion in Australia and other related content.
You’ll receive resources that unpack the content and provide sample learning sequences to build student understanding of SDGs.
The webinar will be an interactive 90 minute session.
Who should attend? Any PDHPE teachers interested in teaching the Stage 6 HMS course.

PRESENTER
Alex Walters, Director of Learning for Wellbeing, St Brigid’s Catholic College, Lake Munmorah
Alex been teaching for 19 years including Stage 6 PDHPE and CAFS since 2007 and head of Department roles from 2008-2018. Alex is also an experienced senior marker.
ACCREDITATION
Completing one of the HMS Extension session will contribute 1.5 hours of NESA elective PD in the priority area of delivery and assessment of NSW curriculum – addressing standard descriptor 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
