Mental health promotion for young people: the role of PDHPE

Join headspace National Education Advisor, Matt Mulcahy, to discuss mental health and the role of school-based PDHPE as a promotion and prevention initiative.

The session will unpack the key evidence base that informs the work of schools and teachers in the mental health promotion and early intervention space. Through a facilitated conversation, learn how this evidence can translate into practice at your school.

The session will also include Q&A – a chance to discuss scenarios you’re dealing with at school with Matt.

Matt Mulcahy – Be You National Education Advisor, headspace
Matt recently joined headspace after 15 years with the Department of Education in Victoria. His experience includes classroom teaching, school leadership and four years as the Principal of a large government school. Matt has a strong passion for developing the capacity of schools to embed whole school inclusive practices which support the mental health and wellbeing of students, staff, school leaders, parents and the broader education community.
